Little Clacton Parish Council – Clerk Vacancy

A flexible 15 hr week spread over a month: working a minimum of three office based flexible early afternoon sessions.

The Clerk will act as the Responsible Financial Officer and ensure the Council conducts its business properly and in line with its statutory obligations.

Candidates should ideally have experience of Local Government and/or committee work (e.g. agenda preparation, minute taking, financial reporting), implementation of Council policies, the provision of advice and guidance on statutory and legislative matters in accordance with The Local Government Act 1972, The Localism Act 2011, Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation.

Training will be encouraged and provided.

Applicants will be required to attend Parish Council meetings held on a monthly evening (normally the first Monday) and occasional business group and delegated assigned meetings when called. The role requires an organised flexible person capable of managing accounts with competence using Windows, Word, Excel, Google and similar IT applications.

If you live relatively locally and can combine flexible working from home and the office and are confident with IT then this may be the role for you.
