Little Clacton Village Hall & Harold Lilley Playing Field
Little Clacton Village Hall was built in 1934 for the village Rifleman’s Club on land donated by a local landowner Harold Lilley. The money for the project was all raised locally, and built by voluntary labour. The Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Sir Richard Colvin, officially opened the hall on 20th May 1935. It has been in continuous use for over 75 years. In 1968 the Rifle Club moved to new premises, the hall registered as a charity to be maintained and administered by an annually elected committee.
The Harold Lilley Playing Field Trust was registered as a charity in 1952 to be held in perpetuity for the people of Little Clacton. In 1993 the two trusts were combined into one charity, to be administered by the same committee. The aim of the charity is to provide and maintain facilities to meet the needs of the local community, of all age groups, for recreation and leisure time pursuits.
Over the years the hall has been renovated and extended in size. It includes a well appointed kitchen and bar area, a stage with extensions available if necessary, and a snooker room with a full size table. The hall is currently in regular use for many purposes, such as:

- Dance Classes, Tap Dance
- Dog Training
- Lunch Club
- Monday Club
- Quilting Club
- Snooker
- Two Carpet Bowls Clubs
- W.I.
- Yoga Classes

Bookings
The Hall is also available for private hire. It is an ideal venue for Parties, Wedding Receptions, Quiz Nights, Meetings, Table Top Sales, Rummage Sales and Children’s Parties, etc.
The Snooker Table is currently available at various times during the week.
